Nippon Express is the First TMC to Sign-up for the Joint Travelport and Rearden Commerce Solution
Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, and Rearden Commerce, today announce that several of the industry's leading U.S. travel management companies (TMCs) have committed to offer the joint Travelport and Rearden Commerce solution to its corporate customers who need a travel and spend management platform. A Travelport-branded version of Rearden Personal Assistant™ is being offered to Travelport-connected TMCs in the U.S. that are seeking a competitive advantage by offering more than just the air, car and hotel services traditionally provided. Nippon Express is the first customer that Travelport has signed to this new solution.
"We're confident that combining the world-class GDS offerings of Travelport, with the Rearden Commerce™ Platform will enable us to enhance the value that we provide our clients and give us the edge necessary to drive our business forward," said Kunitake Ozaki, president, Nippon Express Travel USA. "Not only will this joint offering give me a competitive advantage, but knowing I am using world-class technology that is backed by world class support, made this an obvious decision. I'll be able to spend more time running my business rather than dealing with multiple suppliers; definitely an added bonus."
The joint offering will provide TMCs with a best-of-breed solution that combines the full breadth of services offered via the Rearden Commerce Platform and the Travelport GDS platforms. TMCs have come to trust and depend on Travelport for all their technology needs and by adding the Rearden Personal Assistant to its portfolio, Travelport can offer TMCs ease of ownership, ongoing support and increased speed-to-market. This will enable TMCs to focus on their core competency – delivering high-quality service – while also allowing them to enhance their value to clients through the additional service offerings.
TMCs that adopt the joint solution will have access to the depth and breadth of Travelport GDS content and one of the industry's best technology platforms for managing travel expenses and other areas of spend that are traditionally overlooked. These categories include dining, ground transportation, airport parking, client entertainment and business services, such as web and audio conferencing, shipping and expense management.
"Cain Travel has been a loyal Travelport agency for over 20 years and three years ago, we decided to make the Rearden Commerce Platform our go-to technology solution. The impact it has made on my company is huge," said Michael Cain, president of Cain Travel. "During that time, we have seen 50% ARC sales growth and a 300% growth in online fulfillment. This fundamental growth and transition in our business is largely due to the Rearden Commerce Platform. The broader offering enabled by their technology platform not only delivers more savings, but also my customers really love using it. I applaud Travelport for adding it to its product portfolio."
The joint solution provides corporations critical control and end-to-end spend management capabilities, while offering travelers a robust set of features and functionality comparable to top consumer websites. Maximized cost savings, increased adoption, and employee satisfaction are direct results of this user-centric approach. The platform also includes the location-aware Mobile Personal Assistant™ that incorporates corporate policies and gives individuals access to personalized travel itinerary information.
"In two short months, we've seen a tremendous demand for the joint offering. Rearden Commerce has already proven to be a great partner, and our TMC clients feel empowered with the best technology and content," said Travis Christ, president, Travelport GDS, The Americas. "It's a great complement to our other corporate spend management solutions, and enables us to offer our customers a comprehensive suite of tools that provides quality and flexibility."
