Rearden Commerce Appoints Head of Analytics

Former MySpace Analytics lead Steve Bernstein hired to accelerate Rearden Commerce's Relevance Engine development, applying analytics and semantics to better deliver contextual information to customers

Rearden Commerce, a next-generation eCommerce platform company, today announced the appointment of Steve Bernstein as Vice President, Analytics. An executive known for turning predictive analytics into actionable initiatives to improve the customer experience, Mr. Bernstein will lead the team responsible for analyzing transaction trends to better understand how to deliver Rearden Commerce customers the right service features at exactly the right time.

"Steve has a striking ability to compile raw data into in-depth insight into how consumers want to interact with a web-driven service," said Dan Pritchett, Chief Technology Officer, Rearden Commerce. "His team's work will be central to our charter to deliver the smart web – implementing data-driven decisions that will give customers the most meaningful web experience possible."

Mr. Bernstein said, "My passion is in supporting actionable, data-driven decisions – and seeing them through to execution. He added, "We are actively hiring to build out the team, with an immediate need for a Data Scientist, a Principal Hadoop Engineer, and a Sr. Web Analyst."

Prior to joining Rearden Commerce, Mr. Bernstein served MySpace as VP, Analytics. There, he led the building of the central MySpace Analytics environment, creating a credible and rich data-intensive reporting structure. Mr. Bernstein also served as Director of Web Analytics for PayPal, an eBay company, where his team focused on optimizing and monitoring checkout conversion rates. Mr. Bernstein has also held applicable positions at Pinnacle Systems, a division of Avid Technology, Applied Semantics, Inc., Apple Computer, Inc., and Hewlett Packard.

Mr. Bernstein serves on the Board of Advisors for He holds one patent and has two patents pending. He has earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. in Operations Research from Stanford University.
