Deem Turns To Integrations After Shuttering Expense Platform

Corporate travel technology firm Deem has announced an integration of its solution into the time expense management solution of Deltek just weeks after Deem announced plans to close its own expense management solution.

A press release issued Thursday (Sept. 12) said Deem and Deltek have announced their integration in an effort to promote efficiency in the travel and expense management process for joint customers. Deem will link its business travel management solution for corporate travelers, travel management companies and travel managers, into Deltek through Deem’s OpenExpense Alliance.

National Will Offer Car & Driver Services in China

This fall, National Car Rental will launch a service in China that provides both cars and drivers for travelers via a partnership with Deem. National will provide the service through Shanghai-based car-and-driver service provider eHi Car Services, which has locations in more than 200 cities. On Oct. 1, eHi will begin providing cars and drivers under the National brand. National parent company Enterprise Holdings is an investor in eHi.

Deem is enabling bookings for the service through its Deem Work Fource app and via other platforms, including GetThere, Apollo, Sabre Red App and Egencia.

According to a Deem spokesperson, in an "early phase" expected next quarter, "we will take the Lyft reservation inline in Deem Work Fource, write the segment to the PNR and add to the traveler's calendar." Deem would send an SMS text message to the traveler upon flight arrival. That would link over to the Lyft app where the traveler confirms the ride.

Certify acquires Nutravel's online booking tool

Certify has acquired NuTravel's corporate online booking tool for an undisclosed  amount, the expense management company confirmed. NuTravel will continue to operate its Airline Solutions business independently. The tech company builds and powers business-to-business booking portals for airlines like JetBlue and Air Canada.

Deem work fource integrates focuspoint international cap

Deem's Work Fource platform, which launched in April, has incorporated FocusPoint International's Crisis Assistance Plus to expand duty of care functions on a single platform for joint clients. CAP includes access to destination-based health, safety and security information; itinerary-based traveler tracking; on-demand access to travel security and medical specialists; and in-country assistance, including physical evacuations.

And the first NDC-certified TMC is...W Travel

New York- based W Travel has staked its claim as the first corporate travel management company to achieve New Distribution Capability certification from the International Air Transport Association. W Travel earned its NDC stripes by working with American Airlines through a relationship facilitated by Frosch, of which W Travel is an affiliate.

American Express Global Business Travel Makes Ground Transport Play With Mozio

Travel and expense tech provider Deem also has been working to improve ground transport booking options. In July it announced that Lyft is available through its system, as is Dav El BostonCoach and Empire CLS. That system now also matches a traveler’s trip details to the best ground transportation options, based on the traveler’s profile, location, time and any relevant corporate policies. “It also tracks changes in travel, such as a delayed flight to automatically update the ride reservation and keep users informed,” according to Deem information.
